Monday Motivation

Hello Monday! I know I'm not the only one who thinks that Monday's seem harder than the rest of the week. I've learned to really just go with the flow of Mondays and it makes a huge difference! If my husband is off on Sunday (being a retail manager his days off change frequently) I notice my desire to get up at 6:30 am on Monday to get the kids ready for Mother's Day Out is GONE. It's so stereotypical to say "Oh, Monday's are SOO hard." But I won't judge you if you won't judge me, we all do it!

Just like anything else in life, I'm learning that it's all in your perspective. We've had several major changes going on in our life recently and I've come to find that by appreciating what Monday has to offer, like a fresh start to the week, new goals, new motivation, that it makes it something to look forward to and not dread!

This Monday the world must have known I was going to write about this, because it's been especially hard to stay positive and focused this morning! Not only did 2 of the 3 kids get up in the middle of the night because they needed a certain stuffed toy, or a sip of water. But it's been a cloudy, gloomy, rainy morning. And although those kinds of morning are GREAT for me getting my creative juices flowing, they are terrible at making me want to get me and the kids ready to leave the house! It was also 45 minutes before my alarm time this morning when Jonas wandered into our bed and decided to camp out and be the most awake child ever! So time for a positive, although I know that the minute I drop them off I'm heading to grab the biggest coffee I can find, it's ALWAYS worth it to get up and get everyone dressed and out the door, because then I get alone time AND coffee!

Having a plan, whether its for the day or week, makes or breaks me. This is something I struggled with drastically at first as a stay at home mom, your days and weeks all run together! So much so that unless you have specific things you're doing throughout the week on specific days, you don't even notice what day it is. Our Monday and Wednesday Mother's Day Out program has been a lifesaver for that main reason. It gives me and the kids something to look forward to twice a week, and it smooshes everything else we like to get done in a week into only a handful of days. So finally, we stay busy! We stay busy with our plans, our goals, and our friends, even scheduling in down time for us to relax. And that makes it worth it all on Monday mornings, when I'm so exhausted I'd rather sleep, or I can't imagine waking my peacefully sleeping child at 7am. It makes it worth it when you find a routine and goals that keep you happy and busy!

So whether your Monday morning consists of going to work, or school, or staying home with your kids, find something that makes you happy to look forward to! Because if you have that positive perspective, you have it all! And suddenly Monday's won't seem so bad!!

Hope you all have a great week!
