Hello 2019!

2019! It's a New Year. We all get 365 days to make the most out of this calendar year. It's hard to imagine how fast it goes by, but it's so true that it does. We've got to make the most out of each and every second of our days to really "make it count". I know personally, time didn't start flying by until I had kids. But now every time I look up, one of the 4 is having a Birthday and another calendar year has slipped past us. The years are filled with holidays, to-do's, birthday's, vacations, and by the time you fit in work and school to the mix, that's your year.

So making the most out of each day is important, especially if so many will be gone before you even know it. But what does that mean? Making the most out of it? Well, each person's idea of it is different. But as a wife and mom, for me it means being present. It means building in time for the kids to be kids and enjoy themselves, and to build in time as a couple with my husband. It means slowing down even when it seems like everything is rushing me. It's so easy with the hustle and bustle of work, school, dinner, baths, bed, repeat..that it's hard to remember to snuggle, giggle, and appreciate how amazing our lives are.
These kids may drive me crazy day in and day out, and anyone that tells you that parenthood is easy is full of crap. But, they are beautiful gifts from God and for some amazing reason, He chose me to be their Mom..how cool is that? And how wrong of me to not stop and appreciate that more often! I'm working on being more involved, being more devoted in everything I do. My marriage, my children, my job, my blog, my cooking, my sleep patterns, my exercise, my Netflix binging...okay, okay, maybe LESS devoted in that category. And notice how sleep ranked compared to exercise...#notsorry. I'm all for self care, and doing what we have to do to make it all possible.

But as we go through 2019 and we all work on our own goals and ideas for how we would like to see this new year play out, I'm going to be focusing on myself. Focusing on how to make everything I've been working on since last year, just a little better this year. Call it a resolution, call it a goal, but call it something. Name it, and do it. That's my motivation. Between work, school, and family..I've got my hands full sure, but if you look deeper, you will see how full of BLESSINGS they are. So that's my resolution this year, making sure I stay in constant appreciation and focus of what's around me...and more Netflix binging, because well, self care!
